Optimizing LinkedIn
There are over 500 million professionals using LinkedIn today.
There is no other platform or stage anywhere in the world where you can access so many potential customers, influencers and referral sources to launch or grow your business.
I am often asked how an entrepreneur or business owner can can get more value out of their LinkedIn connections. Its really a question that there are few easy answers to. You might get a bunch of messages in your in box promising a quick and easy way to monetize your LinkedIn profile. But they are pretty much all obviously scams or money grabs that will do little to actually benefit you.
With over 18,000 connections, I have built an All-Star profile where I routinely have a reach of thousands of views and touchpoints a week. Getting to that number of connections takes a system and it takes the effort of more than just yourself. Based on my years of success, I have developed a training module to answer that big question. When I launched my first business back in 2011, I quickly appreciated how powerful a tool LinkedIn can be for connecting with industry leaders, speakers, and executives. Being active on LinkedIn allowed me to build my brand, and lead to me becoming one of the most sought after experts on data analytics in Southeast Asia.
As my company was able to consistently tell our story and spread our influence, we became THE name brand in analytics training in the Philippines. Our most successful tool to build our network was with connecting with like minded people by engaging in group discussions and forums. I was able to develop several joint ventures to market my business, get on stages to speak and enjoy consistent media exposure.
Just being on LinkedIn itself, will not open up new opportunities. That takes time. And time is very valuable resource, especially if you are launching or growing a new business. The key to my success was that once I developed a system on how to optimize LinkedIn, I hired a virtual assistant to take over most of the work.
